Recently, MetroSquared Foundation was honored to be invited to the annual convention of the National Student Nurses Association. James Sagan represented the Foundation at the event. For the past 12 years, our family charitable foundation has awarded scholarships to nursing students in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Florida.
Our scholarship, the Terri Tonsetic Memorial Scholarship, is in memory of my Jim’s late wife, who was one of the original flight nurses at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
This year’s scholarship awardee was Kristi Kettner, who is attending the University of Central Florida College of Nursing. She will graduate in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
This year, the NSNA awarded over $553,000 to 216 students around the country. This year’s annual convention was held in Orlando, Florida and was attended by approximately 2,500 people. The picture below shows some of the scholarship sponsors and scholarship awardees at the annual convention.
If you know of anyone going to nursing school, have them apply at NSNA.org for a scholarship.
